The initial situation
- Until now, planning was done in Excel on the basis of a very complex cost accounting system, which also formed the basis for legal accounting. Consolidation was also done manually without system support.
- The goal was to create an integrated system in which planning, consolidation and reporting could be mapped.
The approach
- Implementation of IBM Cognos Controller to map commercial and management consolidation
- Conception of an integrated and driver-based P&L and balance sheet planning based on sales planning
- Integration of a forecast to map the monthly fast close as an internal monthly close
- Complete technical implementation of the business concept in IBM Planning Analytics and connection of the planning with the actuals from the consolidation with the IBM Cognos Controller
