Global Standardization and Digitalization of Driver-Based Planning at Proman AG

 

The Company

Proman AG is one of the largest methanol producers in the world and covers the entire production depth in the value creation process.

The Challenge

The decentralized planning process hardly allowed for analysis and detailed statements at the group level. The contents could hardly be compared due to different business models and yet the process for this was very time-consuming.

 

The Approach

In order to eliminate the hardly manageable group planning, the planning methods were standardized for each business area throughout the group and mapped in a modern CPM tool. In addition, Group planning and financial planning were dynamically integrated.

  • Definition of a uniform group-wide planning model for core financial planning and for all business models (production, EPC/projects, logistics, sales)
  • Coordination of basic model with all decentralized units worldwide
  • Detailing of the concept in a specialist concept
  • Integration of specific local requirements of an American subgroup
  • Implementation of all planning modules in two phases (Core / Segments)
  • Monitoring of testing centrally and in the overseas units
  • Training of users and Hypercare
  • System expansion to include financial planning and liquidity management as well as complex simulations
