Career - FAQ
From applying to joining the team and everyday life at 4C, find answers to your questions about recruitment and career development.
Complete our application form. You will then receive an email with a link to upload your application documents.
Please submit your resume and relevant academic certificates and employment references, including your academic transcript. We would also welcome a short personal introduction explaining who you are and how you would like to contribute to the 4C team.
After an initial internal review of your application, you will have a phone call with HR or the relevant consulting team. This first conversation may also take place via Microsoft Teams.
Our interviews are an opportunity to find out whether we are the right fit for each other. If we decide to move forward, you will receive a contract offer shortly afterward. The next step is then up to you.
Entry-level roles: Ideally, we will meet at one of our offices. You will get to know at least two of our consultants and have the opportunity to ask your questions.
Student roles: You will meet your potential supervisors virtually. Together, we will discuss the projects you could contribute to at that time.
Entry-level roles: Before your interviews, you will work on a short case study that gives you a taste of everyday consulting work. We want to understand how you approach a task, analyze information, structure your thinking, and present your findings for a client audience. Your English language skills also form part of the assessment.
Student roles: Your virtual interview includes a short case study in your area of interest. The focus is on the discussion and getting to know each other.
Our aim is to provide successful candidates with a contract offer within six to eight weeks of receiving their application.
Yes, at any time—either for a suitable vacancy or by submitting a speculative application. Tell us how you have developed professionally and personally since your previous application and what experience you have gained.
We appreciate your continued interest in 4C and look forward to hearing your story.
Your first day will usually take place at our main office in Munich, together with the other colleagues joining 4C that month.
During onboarding, you will learn the essentials for getting started and meet some of your new colleagues—including over lunch together.
Training sessions and seminars will be a key part of your first few weeks. Most take place virtually, so you can usually attend from your local 4C office or from home.
From day one. You will contribute directly to projects and take on responsibility from the start. Your project team will support you and be available whenever you have questions.
In addition to your project team, you will have two mentors by your side: a professional mentor, such as your project lead, and a personal buddy who can support you beyond project-related questions.
In regular career development conversations, we will discuss your personal goals and aspirations and explore how we can achieve them together. This is complemented by training, development programs, and ongoing support from your mentors.
Yes. We take an individual approach to supporting your academic development, rather than following a fixed model. By discussing your plans early, we can find an arrangement that works for both you and 4C.
Our compensation structure is transparent, both internally and externally. Your career level reflects your personal development and the responsibility you are ready to take on when advising our clients.
In addition, employees who have been part of the 4C team for more than two years can purchase shares in 4C.
The team bonus depends on the company’s overall performance. Your individual bonus is determined by your career level and personal performance.
We want to create a working environment that fits your needs. Depending on the role you join us in, our benefits include:
We want you to contribute your ideas and develop your strengths. Opportunities include getting involved with the 4C Footsteps Foundation, Women@4C, and working groups focused on current topics.
Working together to make a difference—and recognizing individual needs—is an integral part of life at 4C.
You receive 30 days of vacation. Christmas and New Year’s Eve each count as half a day of vacation. Vacation planning takes place at the beginning of the year.
Our projects take us wherever our clients are based. You will generally work on-site with clients and meet your team regularly at our 4C offices.
You should be prepared to travel up to four days a week. The exact arrangements depend on the project.
In line with our ESG guidelines, train travel is our preferred option. However, you will need a Category B driver’s license, as not all client locations are accessible by public transportation.
