Our Perspective on Transformation
It reshapes the business model, organization, technology, and how the business is managed—often simultaneously, while day-to-day operations continue. Lasting change requires more than sound concepts: a clear target state, well-founded decisions, effective steering, and an organization that can sustain the change.
Learn more about Transformation GovernanceOur Roles in Transformation
We improve target-state quality and feasibility, reduce complexity, and address gaps in expertise and accountability. We strengthen decision quality and help ensure that necessary decisions and interventions are implemented effectively.
We take on specific roles that provide direction, ease the burden on management and operational teams, and ensure implementation carries through into day-to-day operations.
Our Roles
Maintain the overall view and direction. We bring initiatives, responsibilities, and dependencies together under coordinated governance. When requirements or priorities change, we make the implications clear and prepare targeted interventions, keeping the target state, feasibility, and execution in view.Risks in focus: Shifting objectives, unclear accountability, and loss of the overall view.

4C Since 1997
Since 1997, 4C has evolved alongside its clients' challenges. What remains unchanged: independence, entrepreneurial responsibility, and the belief that lasting change succeeds only when we work together with the organization.
1997
4C was founded on June 1, 1997. From the outset, the company was guided by the belief that shared values, rather than individual names or egos, shape a company.
Four values give 4C its name and continue to guide us today: Competent, Creative, Change Driven, and Customer Focused.
Our foundation is built on subject-matter expertise, entrepreneurial solutions, consistent execution, and a clear focus on client success.
1999
In 1999, 4C became a German stock corporation (AG), with just six employees at the time. This established an early foundation for employee ownership, entrepreneurial responsibility, and long-term succession from within the company.
Key decisions continue to be made jointly by the partners. The partnership has grown organically from within 4C and continues to underpin the company's independence.
2003–2012
With new offices in Berlin and Frankfurt, 4C expanded beyond Munich. At the same time, the partnership continued to grow from within the company.
In 2012, 4C established the 4C FOOTSTEPS STIFTUNG. The foundation supports early childhood education projects in socially disadvantaged communities through funding and employees' personal involvement.
2013–2018
4C continued to expand its entrepreneurial perspective: in 2015, its digital healthcare expertise led to the creation of eHealth Ventures GmbH, now POLAVIS GmbH.
In 2016, 4C opened its Düsseldorf office, expanding its presence in western Germany. These developments reflect how 4C combines management consulting with the willingness to pursue new areas of expertise, business models, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
2019–2022
New forms of collaboration, digital ways of working, and an updated brand identity shaped this period. In 2021, 4C evolved its brand and visual identity to become more digitally oriented and emotionally engaging.
In 2022, 4C moved into new premises at Sky Office Düsseldorf and celebrated 25 years in business. Throughout this period of change, cohesion, personal responsibility, and long-term thinking remained defining elements of the 4C culture.
Today and Tomorrow
We support C-suite leaders in making informed decisions on mission-critical transformations, governing their execution, and delivering results in the business. We remain what we have been since 1997: independent, entrepreneurial, and by our clients' side.
