Risiko management – the strong side of controlling

Risk management is seen in many companies as an annoying legal obligation and a shadowy existence as a parallel world. Risks are regularly registered in sending lists provided with value and probability, and then aggregated by risk controllers and poured into nice power point charts. But where is the connection to the controlling? Where is the annual schedule with findings of risk management challenged? Where are actual variances in the plan with regard to actual risks commented? Where are in the objectives agreed measures with reference to risk reduction settled? Risk management could be a much more effective support for controlling and management.

4C Approach

The 4C approach integrates risk management into the management systems of the company, especially in controlling, reporting and planning. Based on the risk inventory a supported risk policy must be agreed on by the entire management. Risk management must differ on the one hand between monitoring and reporting and the necessary projects and individual actions to reduce and prevent risks on the other. This distinction forces, if risk management should be efficient and effective integration into very different management and control systems
