Performance management - clarity of signals is what matters

Running a business can and will be consciously or unconsciously supported and sometimes impeded by a variety of instruments. Many instruments such as budgeting or annual target agreements are apparently automatically to the orchestra of instruments. Others, such as TQM or kaizen seem at a first glance, to have nothing in common with guiding principles. And finally, this includes the Balanced Scorecard, from its destructive capability, the practice often turns away disappointed. Anyone who has ever tried to put goals in annual appraisals and compare key figures from the reporting and official goal and strategy statements knows the importance of a coordinated orchestra of instruments. This is how you create a performance organization!

4C Approach

The 4C approach to effective performance management analyzes the company's existing instruments and shows the effects transparently. The approach also develops the objectives, strategy and corporate culture aligned to the defined target image. The success of leadership is not the virtuoso use of a variety of delicate instruments, but the clarity and comprehensibility of the signals for all involved. Guidance is not designed in the engineering sense, but achieved through an alignment of all instruments of clear guidelines.
